Recipe
1/2 cup of any chunky salt
5 tsp sriracha sauce
Basically you combine the salt and the rooster sauce in a bowl, then spread it out on a parchment paper lined tray for 2 days. It takes a couple days for the salt to absorb all the liquid. Stir occasionally. Once done put salt in cute jar for storage.
I managed to hide this from Tony by putting it high up in a cabinet so he wouldn't find it. You should stir the salt a few times so it de-clumps over the 2 day period. You can use any type of salt you have around; we used a chunk style one that possibly came from Crate & Barrel but any salt should work. Also note that you need to use the smooth sriracha sauce, not the garlic chunky version (which is also good btw). It came out great! Very flavorful and bright. It works great on everything we'd normally use salt and sriracha for! Pasta, pizza, eggs, veggies etc all work well. Best thing about this gift is that it keeps giving and it was almost free!

What a great project! I LOVE the cute bottle and the sentiment :)
ReplyDeleteThat's neat. A friend of mine loves sriracha. I wonder if she'd like this. I'll have to carefully question her about her salt habits sometime soon.
