I woke up this morning and thought... today is the day. I'm going to do it. Then I did.
Cinnamon rolls in a waffle iron. Waffle rolls, no. Cinnawaffles, no. I haven't come up with a name but they're amazing! Amazing! I highly recommend you go out and buy the necessary materials.
It's very easy. You'll need: waffle iron and cinnamon roll dough. We used the pre-made kind since it was a spur of the moment decision. Feel free to make your own cinnamon roll dough from scratch.

Just pop open the cinnamon rolls, then place on a hot waffle iron. It's that easy. You can spray a little oil/pam/etc to grease it but I think these babies have got all the butter and grease you'll need. We had 8 rolls and I did 3, then 2 per 'waffle' batch.

You just cook them as long as you would a regular waffle. No longer. Ours on the middle setting of 3 took about 30 seconds maybe. Just go by the standard cook time for your machine. We have a basic waffle iron and it worked beautifully. The green indicator light went on, off came the cinnamon roll waffles, on went the cream cheese frosting.

Eat immediately while warm and enjoy!

Yumm!!!
Next time to get a better handle on our amount of sugar intake I'll probably make the dough and frosting from scratch. I have a great recipe in our Cuisinart Breadmaker for cinnamon roll dough.
Happy Breakfast (or dessert...)

Omg, and here I was thinking that the waffle iron my husband bought would go unused most of the time. I am sooo going to have to try these bad boys out SOON! Daaaamn.
ReplyDeleteYum-oh, I need to try.
ReplyDeleteI've definitely seen these on pinterest and they look so easy (& delicious!) that I can't wait to try them. Of course while we now have a waffle iron it was a wedding present, and I want to wait till after the wedding to actually use any of them.
