Maybe this is just a general decorating secret that I've stumbled upon but I think it works! I happened to notice all these items placed in pairs while strolling through the catalog on my iPhone while lying in bed one night this week. Personally I think they look great in twos. Even threes.
From now on I think I should buy all furniture in sets. 2 lamps (that actually makes sense), 2 dressers, 2 bookcases, 2 doormats, 2 coffee tables, 2 cabinets... 2 rugs. Hope that doesn't mean we'll have twins one day. No, that won't work... better stick to just pairs of furniture when it looks good.
We actually did purchase something in pairs this past weekend on our actual IKEA trip. We got matching faux sheepskin rugs! They now live on either side of our bed so our toes have something soft to touch when we wake up. They're the only rugs in that room of all hardwood floors and a very added welcome. For $10 they're a steal! Some real photos come up soon.
